surgery

I'm about to leave for surgery.

I would be lying if I told you I had the "peace that passes understanding." In fact, I don't. For some reason, I'm pretty nervous.

But my feelings are fallen. "My heart is deceitful among all things." Because God is with me.

Learning to "walk with God" with only one good leg is a bit harder. It requires you lean into something -- crutches, if you will: your friends and community... even God Himself.

Good luck, Paul. You will be in my prayers today.

I was seven the last time I had surgery--to set a broken arm--and I wasn't remotely scared. I think I would be now, though. Funny how that works.

Praying for you! If you need anybody to help you out during the day or play with Lydia for a while or something just let me know ... I don't have ANYTHING to do during the day and would welcome a change in scenery.

Although I draw the line at fanning you with palm leaves and feeding you grapes.
