Spend, spend, spend.

I'm pretty sure that I don't agree with Fred Thompson on all the issues. I'm not sure I would have voted for him. But much of this is pretty brilliant.

I can't take this guy seriously. He should have stayed on as the DA on Law & Order. I could do without his snide attitude. Feels more like a commentary than a plan. I'm sure Fred has plenty of dough, anyway.

A couple things bothered me about this, but before that. I agree that the idea of spend, spend, spend should not work in the long run. We need a balance between savings, cutting costs and putting people to work. Not sure about the short run, though and people starve to death in the short run.
That being said ...
Fred blames "liberal economists," yet it was a conservative congress and executive branch who did all the spending (wars, etc) AND proposed the "bailout plan" so this seems a bit disengenuous.

Also, it's easy to snipe in and identify problems. But, does he (a potential president ...) offer a plan to get out of it? Nope ... just snide comments. Not worthy.

John Boehner (I'm not his greatest fan) said in a recent interview that if we (the republican minority) don't have a "better idea", then we should just shut up and let the proposed plan go through. Just being roadblocks is not good enough. Amen, brother!!!

Maybe Fred should take Rep Boehner's advice and either put up or shut up.
